Project Overview:

Umran SLY Library is a community-driven initiative aimed at empowering marginalized children, especially girls, in the Village of Jaynangar City (Madhubani district) of Bihar, India. The library serves as a center for bringing privileged and underprivileged children together to foster a sense of unity, growth, and positive culture. The library provides youngsters with a variety of opportunities to cultivate a positive outlook, especially for girls and vulnerable children who are at risk of being lost due to insufficient educational institutions, supervision, and culture.

Currently, Umran SLY Library has limited space and supplies, preventing it from serving children efficiently and on a larger scale. Therefore, UGPF aims to expand the library and enhance the essential supplies to offer a favorable atmosphere for the educational needs of children.

The library will serve as an educational and cultural emblem, divided into four divisions, each addressing a particular educational requirement. The first component is the reading portion, which includes a variety of children’s books. The second portion will include youngsters in the arts (painting), which will be displayed and sold to encourage young people. The third portion is dedicated to music and theatre, which will involve youngsters in appropriate activities, while the fourth section is dedicated to the café. This area will facilitate communication between adults and youngsters.

Project Goals:

To expand Umran SLY Library to provide more space and supplies for efficient and effective educational services to children in Akaunha Village.
To promote a positive outlook for children, especially girls, and vulnerable children who lack access to education, supervision, and culture.
To encourage the community’s involvement in promoting education and culture through the Umran SLY Library.
To establish the library as an educational and cultural emblem for the community.

Project Activities:

Purchase land for the expansion of Umran SLY Library and construct a building with four divisions: reading, arts, music, and café.
Expand the library’s collection of books and other educational materials to meet the educational needs of children.
Promote educational and cultural activities for children in the arts, music, and theatre divisions.
Establish the café as a center for communication and community involvement in promoting education and culture.

Budget:

The total cost of the project is estimated to be 50 lakh rupees. The budget breakdown is as follows:

Land purchase and construction: 35 lakh rupees
Books and educational materials: 10 lakh rupees
Furniture and equipment: 5 lakh rupees

Expected Results:

The expanded Umran SLY Library will serve more children efficiently and effectively in Akaunha Village, promoting education and culture.
The library will encourage the community’s involvement in promoting education and culture, resulting in a positive outlook for children, especially girls, and vulnerable children.
The library will establish itself as an educational and cultural emblem for the community.

Donor Recognition:

All donors will be recognized in the Umran SLY Library as partners in promoting education and culture. As UGPF is 80G certified, donors who are taxpayers will be eligible for a deduction of 50% or 100% on donations of more than Rs. 2,000 (with or without restriction), as per the rules prescribed under Section 80G.
