Umran Women’s Forum is a beacon of hope for many. Their mission is multi-faceted, focusing on women’s health, literacy, cleanliness, environmental conservation, cultural development, and employment. The aim? To spread awareness, find solutions for their social challenges, and promote active participation in community development. The inception of the Umran Women’s Forum is credited to Veena Devi, who felt that women from Bihar, India, were not receiving the right level of social participation. Every Sunday, the women members gather at the Umran Green Perspective Foundation’s library. Here, they brainstorm on issues related to literacy, cleanliness, women’s literacy, cultural development, and environmental matters, seeking solutions that can transform their communities for the better.
