Umran SLY Library is inspired by Walter Gropius’ Bauhaus concept. Although the library requires further development to align with my vision, its impact is already becoming evident in its initial stages. Shashank Pathak, a teacher who runs a coaching center for 10+2 students in Devdha village (8 km far from Umran SLY Library), was deeply impressed and inspired by Umran SLY Library and the exhibition model concept. He brought his students, particularly girls, on a tour of Umran SLY Library and introduced them to me (Rajeev Kumar, Founder).
I had the opportunity to engage with these young individuals and inspire them with a larger vision for Bihar. I emphasized the importance of working together and networking across various sectors to promote Bihar’s growth. I also encouraged Shashank Pathak to establish a small library in his village and involve his senior students in village-level initiatives, while also engaging the local community. Umran will always be there to support them with ideas and other possible means.
During the gathering, I also introduced them to Umran’s Language program and Umran magazine, which provide significant opportunities for these young individuals. Overall, it was a highly productive event that fueled my hope and motivation. It was heartening to see Shashank Pathak’s understanding of the value of our project Umran and his visionary approach.
