UMRAN, A Green Perspective has an objective to make education accessible to the deprived parts of villages in India where education is lacking. UMRAN’s vision is to spread education in the furthest part of the world where schooling can help bring change and development to society. UMRAN, leading multiple educational projects, has started its new venture in Akaunha Village, Jaynagar, Madhubani Bihar, India.

Bihar is one of the most backward regions today in India. Once, it used to be an educational, political and cultural center for the world but it has lost its glory of the old days. It is a root place where Indian philosophy developed and took shape into Buddhism, Jainism and other religious traditions. Nalanda used to be the house of one of the oldest universities that gave vision to the world. At Nalanda, the world’s first seat of higher learning, a university, was established during the Gupta period. It continued as a seat of learning till the middle ages, before the invaders burned it down. It is one of the causes behind all the education and philosophy that exists in India today.

Akaunha is a small village in Bihar, located on the border of India and Nepal with a total of 2000 households and 4000 children. The village used to be agriculturally developed giving residence to different cultures living together. The literacy rate in Akaunha village is 30% and hence is the reason Umran has decided to work for the educational needs of the village and for the sake of the future of the children. Due to lack of education, children have started involving in illegal activities, which has impacted their education and lifestyle negatively. Akaunha village is in need of schooling as their only expedient for success. Umran has taken the step in the development of the only government school which has not been renovated since 1987 with little to no improvement.

UMRAN wants to increase the educational percentile of the village, its inception is to build libraries for the children. This library is not just a common library, rather it will be philosophical or symbolic in a manner that it will communicate with human society. It will have four sections contributing to different educational needs; the first section will have story books for primary school children as well as the volunteers who would help children with their homework, through these activities’ children will learn to grow in their academic studies.  The second section is dedicated to music and music instruments in which students are encouraged to participate, children would be able to learn music through various music instruments, children would be able to learn culture through this section. The third section would be an art gallery and sales from paintings would be donated so they can become a better social citizen and contribute to local society. The fourth section is a café where there would be special discounts for the students and would be designed in a way to promote culture. This library will give plenty of opportunities to the students who want to learn and help their community grow academically. This library will provide the best learning and educational environment to its visitors.

UMRAN supports the concept that children who learn to enjoy reading at an early age continue to read throughout their lives. In order to develop a love of reading, children must have access to books which stretch their imaginations, touch their emotions, expand their horizons. UMRAN building SLY library, in the name of Sone Laal Yadav who promoted education, however, only his family could get good education in the region due to his cognizance and today his grandson Rajeev Kumar, Founder & Managing Director of UMRAN is trying to accomplish his vision in the region. The library is founded on the principles of his dream project, UMRAN Green School, which would be a sustainable and viable schooling system for the future generations.

For the library UMRAN is in need of funds which can only be possible through the people who are willing to donate, so far we have been receiving many donations for the establishment of the library, through your donations children of the village would be able to get quality education, UMRAN will receive great support if you are willing to help and fund the library any way possible for you. UMRAN’s dream is to spread education to the furthest part of the world. Your funds will give the poor children a chance at learning, making their life as well as the life of community a better place for the future. Our goal is to raise an adequate amount to purchase new books, instruments and landscaped for recreational use. Studies have shown that children who read one book a day are more likely to succeed as adults. We aim to give this advantage to our children.
